IV' ans of Southern California,
We need your help in making the Admin Fixes Campaign Successful. We are organizing a Southern California IV Meetup and Letter Signing Event this Weekend. We are targeting to get a 1000 letters signed and sent to the White House from our group. We need volunteers to print letter templates, get envelopes/stamps and most importantly bring family, friends and colleagues to this event.
I volunteer. I will be in Los Angeles this Sunday. See you there.

My LC is still in process after auditing (EB2). My employer wants to 'drastically' cut back my salary due the national depression, which is particularly affecting the field my company is operating in (sub-primes). If he does that, and I accept it, is LC in jeopardy? We filed back in September 2007 with a certain salary and now it will be lower. Do we have to communicate the change to the DOL? And if yes, what will happen? Do we have to re-file? Thank you to everybody for all the info you can give me! Really!:(

Congrats to all those who are lucky enough to file their I-485 by August 17. I am kind of on the unlucky side. My mandatory labor recruitment wait period of 30 days end on August 17. Wonder if anyone has any idea about I-485 availability or unavailability by september or october or may even next time this year to use up the available numbers.

What if H1-B extension is for last 3 years of total 6 years? It means,my first 3 years are ending in nov 07, and if I file 485, will I get 3 years of extension or 1 yr extension?

It is not clearly spelled out on cic.gc.ca.(or at least I couldnt find it)...so I was confused..
Even if the Spouse is included in the application and may work in canada...even then spouse does not have to appear for test....??
Can you point me to the website for confirmation of this??

1. This is debated a lot - some attorneys feel send it only when they ask for it, some say it is better to send letter proactively
2. For these apps there can be a new attorney - i think the old G-28 for 485 will still be effective/ valid
3. As of now - it should be similar and subject to interpretation
4. Proferred wage is considered the minimum requirement - so i think it should be ok. But i dont know for a big jump

I had the same experience when I was trying to arrange state volunteers for IV to meet the lawmaker, I was asked questions to the same effect.. What and howmuch of IV resources are being spent for labor backlog elimination? It is stated in the agenda on the home page. A webfax for a letter writing campaing was suppsed to start, but has not started yet. I think IV should work onputting up the letter on the site for people to use to send to lawmakers.

I have the file numbers etc since I got finger print notice last year so am set up online to track the applications. But just haven't see the receipt notices come through. Should I be concerned?

This is my GC application history
1. PD for Labor - Aug 2003
2. Labor(Regular) Application Approved - Nov 2005
3. i-140 applied in Jan 2006
4. RFE received question was for company not self, i-140 withdrawn.
5. Transferred my H1 to the companys sister concern and reapplied for i140 in June 2006.
6. Applied for i140 premium processing on June 22nd, 2007.
Current status for i-140 : Recieved and pending at Nebraska service center.
Questions
Q1. What is i-140 receipt date for premium processing. Is it the date the fed-ex package is recvd by USCIS or is it a date issued by USCIS that should reach my lawyer?
Q2. If in case the USCIS need to provide my attorney a receipt date, we have NOT received one as yet. Does that mean they have not even looked at the application as yet?
Q3. Can i apply for i485 in the worst case that i do not receive approval for i140 by Aug 17th under the concurrent filing rule.
Any assistance would be highly appreciated.

I believe it is random and chaotic. WORSE, we have been powerless to control or improve it. That is why we need to work together and make our voice heard!

I am sure you are a latest filers...so just relax and forget abt it for many yrs to come unless there is a serious effort by the Govt. to reduce backlog...till then elax and dotn let your blood boil over it leading to deterioration in health and wealth....

Considering the lowered cost of stock I am planning to gets my hands dirty in stock. But I don't have much knwoeldge about it. Also, by the time I find resouces to learn more about stock, the prices might ahve gone up.
