My wife's EAD has not yet been approved. It has been 92 days since the receive date. We had an infopass appointment today. I did not apply for EAD.
The officer we met with mentioned that the EAD is issued only after the biometrics are done. I highly doubt this is the norm. Our FP is scheduled for Nov 21st. he said that the service center will electronically send the photo/fp to nebraska. Only then can I expect to see any movement on the EAD application.
I have heard that your FP/biometrics does not have anything to with EAD. However, this officer gave us information that is totally contrary to what we have seen in recent times. Yes you are true, FP doesn't have anything to do with EAD approval.
However if you apply EAD online, then you will get FP notice as a part of the process.

The Gandhi's philosophy indicates the peaceful protest against obvious injustice. The USCIS/DOS decision to stop accepting I 485 from July 2 was the obvious injustice due to couple of reasons; First, it is un precedent and legally not right to stop accepting I 485 when they made big weekend rush to use all visa. Second, No one can suddenly on and off as thousands of people preparing stuff in advance based on the visa bulletin.
We can not use Gandhigiri for increasing visa number or expediting their immigration process. We can only request. it is not our right hence sending flower to PERM agency is not a good idea. Brahmastra (ultimate weapon) can be used at appropriate time only!

The reason for rushing the application is that it could retrogress midway during the month of July. It may seem unlikely but you never know. That's one reason to file it as early as possible.
But i did not know the attorney would like to file it in June for me. I just wanted to find out if anyone's sent it early and received receipt.

Guys this is not a post to project your problems. This is the post to build up support and encourage immigration voice to plan a campaign to address current backlogs and future backlogs which will sent in after August. Please build up support instead of asking questions. It is almost obvious the situation is not gonna improve in october, but it will go worse!!!

This is going to be an issue for lot of folks who all filed for I-485 in the last year July fiasco. We will be forced renew every time. Only by giving 2 years is just a temporary postponement but not solving the real problem.
It is like Drivers Lincense renewal. If you have your documentation and you have been driving legally should be granted renewal instantly. Why can't they do the same thing with EAD?

In the first place.. it should be non-expiring .. something like valid with I-485 Receipt... and then when accepting EAD employer can check the I-485 status that its still pending... and any change will send email to the employer about 485 current status...

Gov: Show me the money?
USCIS: let sdo 1 year EAD/AP renewal... and we can sit for 90 days on it for generating this much money... and find cheapest ways of printing the card and mailing... If errors happen we might get more money :-)
Gov: why are you not moving dates and making more money?

and so on...

I like them all Gary, but agree with Chris about the cloning out that bright white rock , or whatever it is, in the first one. Also, unless you've been there before, it's difficult to capture the enormity of those rocks. The footpath catches my eye in the second photo which gives some perspective on where you are positioned. It looks like you are a quite a bit above and working your way down to the path. The 3rd pic looks like a crop? of the upper-center of the 2nd pic? And lastly, can I apply for a job where you work so I can travel too!

My 485 got approved on 8/8/8 , where as wife's case is still pending , my wife called the 1.800 number , they told it has been assigned to the officer , and he has to make a decision.

Got an email from HR (Large US Based Tech company) sometime back that there is a possibility representative of the USCIS may come to work location to review an employees immigration petition and this appears to be part of USCIS standard procedure. Employees have been provided with HR contact details to contact, if it happens for anyone. This is not unusual and this could very well happen to any one. Just a routine procedure. Nothing to worry much on this as long as you provide the details and if you have not violated any laws, etc..

Illegal immigration is no good for this country. We would rather have no immigration relief than having any immigration relief that comes with ammnesity. There is no premium process for PERM. if you get audited, it will take 1-2 years to get approval. You can do premium for I-140

I received a receipt confirmation for my I-140 petition. It shows that they received on March 24, 2006. I tried to check on the status on USCIS website in case status. I could not find my case so far. Does it take so long to be updated. I am worried if my petition is misplaced somewhere...

This thing is driving me crazy...
Do we need to send an invitation letter in a .txt format? How do I send an invitation letter with letterhead and signature in a .txt format?
As far as I can remember this invitation letter part is only applicable if this is the first time someone is travelling to the US to study or work. I donot think this is needed if you have gone from the US to India for a vacation and are trying to get your visa renewed.
This is what I recollect. By the way I think you can send a Microsoft Word Document.
